A Waterbury man was fatally struck by a vehicle Saturday while working in a construction zone on I-95 in Greenwich, state police say.
It happened near Exit 3 north around 2:25 a.m.
Police say Osvaldo Vela, of Yonkers, was driving near an active construction zone in the left lane. He then veered into the area and hit Traymont Tucker who was in the center median.
Tucker was pronounced dead a few hours later.
Vela had minor injuries and was taken to Stamford Hospital.
The highway reopened at 10 a.m.
