Brooklyn voters are turning out in strong numbers at PS 114, eager to cast their ballots ahead of the expected crowds. Recent city data shows that Brooklyn led New York City in early voting this past week, with nearly 250,000 ballots cast between Oct. 25 and Nov. 3.
Turnout is expected to continue to increase further today within District 18, and officials are urging voters to plan for large crowds. Voters on the ground expressed the importance of participating: Thora Francois said, “Many people have lost their lives to give us this opportunity to vote, and it’s very important we come and vote.”
Another voter, Michelle Peters noted, “There’s a lot of problems that need fixing, so we have to get our opinions out there instead of just talking amongst ourselves.”
Polls close tonight at 9 p.m., but anyone already in line by then will still be allowed to vote and be able to cast their ballot.
