Customers at Brooklyn’s Best Locksmith and Hardware in Flatlands were stocking up on supplies ahead of the upcoming snowstorm, from snowblowers and shovels to salt and scrapers.
“I have my shovels, I’m getting my salt at my favorite hardware store, and I'll be out there with my E-shoveler to save my back,” said Darryl Taylor, of Flatlands.
“I’m prepared slightly,” said Jay Alexander, of Flatlands. “I don’t have a bag [of ice melt], but I have enough to get by, I think.”
“We’re going to be closed for [Christmas],” said Richard Gavitt, salesman at Brooklyn’s Best Locksmith & Hardware. “People [have been] coming in this past week, picking up salt, shovels, snowblowers, everything they need.”
News 12 meteorologists say the region could receive several inches of snow.
“I love the snow,” said Alexander. “Snow doesn’t bother me at all.”
“It’s better to be prepared,” Taylor said. “It’s better to be ahead of the game because a lot of people will be coming to get supplies the day of. I’ll already have my salt.”
The storm is expected to start Friday after 4 p.m. and run through Saturday 1 p.m.
