Drivers all across the Hudson Valley were faced with some messy road conditions.
From torrential downpours, to extreme winds, to even a tree across the Bronx River Parkway, commuters saw it all Friday.
If you were traveling South on the Bronx River Parkway in the area of Tuckahoe sometime before 6 p.m., there's a chance you were stuck in standstill traffic. That's because a tree fell into the roadway, damaging the center guardrail. Crews worked quickly to clean it up and push the debris over to the side so that the roads could reopen.
"They built a parkway in the middle of a forest. What is to be expected?" said Yonkers resident Christopher Webster.
A fallen tree wasn't all commuters dealt with.
"It was horrible. It was windy, and it was raining and I couldn't see," said Yonkers resident Nilda Guzman.
Friday morning, our crews witness docks bobbing up and down uncontrollably in Nyack, and the Governor Mario M. Cuomo bridge was tough to see in the distance due to the fog.
Over in Hawthorne, near the Saw Mill River Parkway, parts of Broadway near the intersection of Bradhurst Avenue were completely underwater causing the road to shutdown due to flooding.
Commuters News 12 spoke with said getting to work this morning wasn't easy.
"The wind was so bad. My umbrella was flipping on the other side. Then by the time I got to the train station, my pants were all wet from my ankles all the way to my knees," said Nilda Guzman.
