The Brooklyn Children’s Museum is hosting a two-day Indigenous Peoples’ Day festival today and Monday in partnership with the North American Indigenous Center of New York.
It features Haudenosaunee dances, social/hoop dances, beadwork, screen printing and terra cotta pottery.
"We try to reflect the diversity of the communities that live and work in Brooklyn. So, the kids who are coming to the museum can see themselves in the programs and offerings that we have, " said Dylan House, the museum's director of programming.
The festival runs from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Tickets are available at BrooklynKids.org.
