The Bronx currently has just one operating movie theater after the closure of Multiplex Cinemas in Concourse Plaza, leaving many residents disappointed.
The popular theater closed its doors in late May, and its once-busy halls are now dark and silent.
Local families, like Samantha Nwabueze and her children, say the theater was a large part of their lives.
Without it, residents are left traveling to Bay Plaza, the Bronx’s last commercial theater.
While the Bronx Borough President’s Office declined to comment on the theater’s future, Concourse Plaza’s owner, the Feil Organization, says it is speaking with theater operators and expects to share an update in the coming weeks.
