A family-owned restaurant in Williamsbridge is bringing together two cuisines that are rarely found under one roof — pizza and traditional Vietnamese food.
At VPho and Pizzeria, owner Elizabeth Lee has combined her love of Vietnamese cooking with a neighborhood pizzeria she purchased in 2023. She expanded the menu about a year later to include authentic Vietnamese dishes, giving Bronx residents a chance to experience flavors from her culture alongside classic New York pizza.
Lee said her goal is to share her heritage with the community.
"I came here when I was little, and I want to share my culture with everybody here," she said.
The unique menu has sparked curiosity among customers, many of whom stop in for pizza and leave having tried Vietnamese cuisine for the first time.
Lee said customers often ask about the dishes displayed on the restaurant's walls and are eager to sample something new.
The menu features a variety of Vietnamese favorites, including sandwiches and traditional Vietnamese coffee, while still serving the pizza that neighborhood customers have come to expect.
The combination of familiar comfort food and authentic Vietnamese flavors has helped the restaurant carve out a unique identity in the Bronx.
From classic slices to traditional Vietnamese recipes, Lee hopes the restaurant shows that unexpected combinations can create memorable dining experiences.
