A historic pillar of the Bridgeport community celebrated a massive milestone this weekend as Hall Neighborhood House marked its 140th anniversary by opening its doors for a free community-wide family festival.
Founded back in 1886, the nonprofit has grown from a local residence that helped young families into a multi-generational hub.
The nonprofit partnered with the Bridgeport Police Department to host a day filled with free local resources, food and family fun on the city's East Side.
Today, the hub offers comprehensive services to the community that range from preschool, to summer camp and athletics, to free medical and dental care.
Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim and Hall Neighborhood House Executive Director Bob Dzurenda both joined in the festivities to thank the staff and celebrate the families who have put their trust in the organization for over a century.
