With the start of summer weeks away, officials are urging drivers to be cautious on the roads.
Bridgeport police say every year once the weather warms up, they begin to see a spike in accidents involving motorcycles and other two-wheeled vehicles.
Attorney Dennis Bradley says over the past month he has already seen a 50% increase in accidents.
"Sometimes people are not just simply mindful of the fact that motorcycles and other vehicles are in blind spots and people have to be mindful of those situations so that no one's injured or killed during the summertime season," he said.
Police also say distracted driving plays a role in many accidents.
They recommend people slow down and are extra careful when changing lanes.
