A Bridgeport man has been arrested in connection to a double shooting that happened Saturday in Bridgeport, police say.

Police say Taj Meyers faces gun charges.

However, they also want the state's attorney to charge him with assault with a deadly firearm charges.

The shooting happened Saturday afternoon at the Arcade Mall, where a social gathering was being held following the funeral of 31-year-old Jordan Thompson.

Two people were taken to the hospital.

Police say the shooting was not connected to Thompson's death.

"This shooting that occurred on Saturday was in no way a retaliatory event related to the homicide of Jordan Thompson on Jan. 4th. It just appeared to be a very isolated argument that occurred inside the vestibule of the Arcade mall, quickly moved outside and the shooting occurred," says Detective Jeffery Holtz.
