A Bridgeport man accused of drowning his infant daughter has been deemed competent to stand trial.
Dale Kirkland appeared in Milford Superior Court on Tuesday, where both sides signed off on his most recent evaluation.
Kirkland spent the last 60 days at a psychiatric hospital after he was found not competent to stand trial.
The change in his status means the case will proceed.
Kirkland was arrested last August after staff at the Mayflower Motel found his 3-month-old child dead in a bathtub.
