A Brewster man has been charged following a report of a past sexual assault involving a juvenile after an investigation by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said they received the report last month and continued investigating before making an arrest.

Christian Lopez‑Gregorio, 21, was taken into custody last Friday.

During the arrest, officials said he attempted to flee on foot and resisted before officers were able to take him into custody.

Lopez‑Gregorio has been charged with rape and resisting arrest.

He is currently being held at the Putnam County Correctional Facility.
