The driver of a box truck was killed in a crash on I-95 in New Rochelle that shut down the southbound side of the highway overnight.

State police say the collision with a tractor-trailer happened around midnight.

The box truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The tractor-trailer's driver was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No other information will be released until next of kin are notified, according to state police.

All southbound lanes were closed for hours as troopers investigated and cleared the scene, with traffic diverted at Exit 16. All lanes are now open.
