A proposed housing and commercial development in Westport has been voted down by the town's planning and zoning board.

The Hamlet at Saugatuck project was rejected in a 4-3 vote Monday night.

The plan called for building hotels, apartments, shops, and restaurants on a 7-acre waterfront property near the train station.
