Bed-Stuy man charged with murder for deadly stabbing inside his home
A Bed-Stuy man is accused of carrying out a fatal stabbing inside his home, investigators say.
Jayvon Boyd allegedly killed Frank Brown just before 7:45 a.m. Friday on Bainbridge Street, where police sources say officers found a trail of blood leading to the building where Boyd lives.
Brown was found with multiple stab wounds and rushed to One Brooklyn Health-Interfaith Medical Center, where he died.
Prosecutors say Boyd, 27, faced a judge for the first time Saturday and is charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
The medical examiner determined that Brown suffered two stab wounds to the chest, one of which punctured Brown's lung, causing his death.
According to court documents, Boyd claims he and Brown got into an argument prior to the attack and says Brown struck him multiple times with a broomstick, causing him to fall.
Boyd says when he got back on his feet, he took out a knife and stabbed Brown.
Prosecutors say Boyd admitted to hiding the murder weapon in the living room near a bed.
Information on the relationship between the two men was not immediately available.
Boyd is due back in court Wednesday.
