First responders faced off on the ice in Dix Hills Saturday to raise money for children who are in the hospital.
The "Battle of The Badges" tournament featured four teams that included Nassau police, FDNY EMS, JFK customs enforcement, and state court officers.
Organizers say the money raised from raffles and donations will go to the John Theissen Children's Foundation.
The Wantagh-based nonprofit helps families with medical expenses, and donates equipment to hospitals and child care facilities.
"Working for the FDNY is an honor of a lifetime, and to represent the department at such an important and such a good event is truly an honor," said Peter Ferro, of the FDNY EMS hockey team.
The foundation will also host golf outing in Commack on Sept. 15.
