Residents of Winona Road in Baldwin are contending with a second apparent water main break in a matter of months.
Crews are on the scene working to remedy the situation.
Resident Sharon Fox tells News 12 she had a knock on her door from a police officer in the middle of the night, telling her to move her car.
She expressed concern over the infrastructure in the area.
In front of her house is a buckled road and sinkhole.
Fox described the intense force of the water as it rushed down the street and said it was "really strong" and "frightening."
One resident who's without water told News 12 her water bill recently went up "a crazy amount" and she expressed frustration that she couldn't shower and do laundry Monday.
Liberty Water released the following statement to News 12:
"At approximately 1 a.m. on Monday, a water main broke on the Baldwin/Oceanside border. Liberty crews were dispatched immediately and were able to isolate the leak. Currently, 115 customers are without water. Those crews will continue to work until water is restored to all customers, which is expected to be by 4 p.m. We are distributing bottled water to customers who need it through a station set up in the area. We can also distribute directly to homes if needed. We appreciate our customers’ patience and understanding at this time and want them to know that the main repair on those streets is a priority for Liberty. We could not do such a large project during the peak summer season and put plans in place to begin the replacement this fall."
