NWS Alerts: Coastal Flood Advisory
Forecast:
We’re in for a beautiful afternoon with plenty of sunshine and a comfortable breeze helping temperatures climb into the upper 70s and low 80s.
This pleasant stretch of weather sticks around through Saturday, so it’s a great time to enjoy the outdoors.
By Sunday, though, things start to change. Clouds will begin to gather as a system moves in from western New York. There’s a chance we’ll see some showers develop late in the day, and those could linger into Monday.
Looking ahead to the final days of August, it’s shaping up to be quiet and maybe even a bit cool, with highs staying in the 70s for a few days.
As for Hurricane Erin, the only noticeable effects around here were some gusty winds and choppy conditions on the Sound. Coastal flooding was minimal, just a bit of saltwater intrusion, but nothing major. Erin is now heading east and moving away from the U.S.

Saturday: Partly sunny. Highs near 82.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy. Showers. Highs near 81.
