Anyone planning to go to Katch at Venetian Shores in Lindenhurst this Labor Day weekend must prove they live in the Town of Babylon.
The Town of Babylon says the new rule will end after Labor Day.
Empty chairs and tables could be seen at the restaurant Saturday afternoon on what would normally be a busy summer lunch rush.
The town's restriction applies to all of Venetian Shores Park, which is where Katch is located.
A lawyer for Katch sent News 12 a statement saying:
"We appreciate the town's understanding and willingness to reach an agreement that eradicates all problems but ultimately serves the community at large."
The restaurant's lawyer goes on to say the town will be adding more parking spots in the park, as well as some "No parking after 10 p.m." signs on the street.
News 12 reached out to the Town of Babylon about new parking regulations but has not heard back.
