Monday marked 50 years since the release of Bruce Springsteen’s iconic album “Born to Run.”
The album features such classic hits as “Thunder Road,” “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out,” and the title track, “Born to Run.”
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy called the anniversary “a huge day in Jersey history.”
And while The Boss is mostly tied to New Jersey, a piece of the album’s history also has roots in Rockland County, New York.
The “Born to Run” track was recorded in a tiny garage off Route 303 in Blauvelt, New York. It is the old 914 Recording Studio.
That garage still stands now as part of an auto repair shop. It contains a historic marker to mark the spot.
