Officials: Former Rutgers football player killed in shooting incident in Hoboken

Authorities identified the victim as 21-year-old Damon Murray.

A 21-year-old man was killed in a shooting in Hoboken on Sunday, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities identified the victim as Damon Murray. The Hoboken Schools superintendent says Murray was a former Rutgers University football player.
The shooting happened near 320 Marshall Drive on the border of Jersey City. Officials say Murray was shot around 11:30 p.m.
"I am deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Damon Murray, a well-respected, standout athlete who gave back to Hoboken youth and our community at large,” Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla wrote on X. “My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends during this difficult time. May his memory continue to live on through all who knew him.”
No arrests have been made.
