Williams Candy has been a Coney Island staple for over 80 years and now they are enjoying their sweet moment in the spotlight.
The candy shop located on Surf Avenue was featured in two scenes for the film "Anora."
Shooting for the film happened back in 2023. So, imagine the shop owners surprise when the film was nominated for six Oscars this year.
“We didn’t know it was going to be so big," said Peter Agrapides, the owner of Williams Candy. “I love the Oscars, it’s going to be better now, maybe they’ll put that scene in the candy shop on the screen."
