A Yonkers park got its first major upgrade in nearly 30 years. Andrus Park on Central Park Avenue has gotten a big makeover. Officials unveiled new basketball, tennis and pickleball courts. There is also a new play area with safety surfacing, new landscaping and general site improvements and site furniture. "This is one of the most heavily used parks in the city of Yonkers, where tens of thousands of people traverse the road on a daily basis and we are very excited to open it today," says Steve Sansone, Parks, Recreation & Conservation commissioner.
Andrus Park is one of 11 parks renovated across Yonkers this year.
