Three people are recovering after a stabbing outside the Woodson houses in Brownsville, and so far, no one has been arrested.
Police say it happened just before 1 p.m. Sunday on Dumont Avenue.
A 25-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man were both
stabbed in the abdomen. A 26-year-old woman was stabbed in the buttocks. All three were taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK.
Video from the scene shows police taping off the area and searching for evidence outside the building.
Investigators have not said what led up to the stabbing or if the three people know each other. That’s still a big part of what they’re trying to figure out.
Another challenge — police sources say the people who were hurt are not cooperating, which is making it harder to piece together what happened.
Neighbors say incidents like this are concerning and make them think twice about getting involved.
“I’m not OK with it, but what are you gonna do? You try to stop it, you could be the one getting stabbed. You gotta pick your battles. Pay attention to your surroundings,” said Demetrius Graham, who lives in the area.
At this point, no one is in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
