Three people were arrested Saturday following a street takeover involving at least 200 ATVs, dirt bikes and motorcycles that began in Hauppauge and moved to Brentwood.

Suffolk police say numerous 911 calls alerted them to people driving recklessly and doing stunts on Route 347 in Hauppauge around 4:20 p.m.

When officers arrived, they arrested two people and impounded several vehicles.

Ave Mongiella, 23, of Mount Sinai, and Jahkil Arroyo, 29, of Central Islip, were each charged with reckless driving, reckless endangerment and unlawfully fleeing a police officer.

Police say the group disbanded but later regrouped near Motor Parkway and Express Drive South in Brentwood.

Highway Patrol officers and Suffolk police saw the group traveling through Bay Shore, where two ATVs became disabled.

The riders abandoned their vehicles and left on foot.

One of the riders, Shamir Solomon, 22, of Roosevelt, was apprehended and put into custody after being found to have a loaded gun on them.

Solomon is charged with criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful speed contest and reckless driving.

In total, police impounded ten vehicles.

As News 12 previously reported, nine people were arrested and 12 vehicles were seized last weekend in connection with a street takeover and illegal racing in Suffolk County.
