A Bridgeport immigration attorney says he has seen a quiet but significant shift in airport security.

Mark Bradley says the Dept. of Immigration having agents at airports has turned routine domestic flights into a new frontline for federal deportation efforts.

He said that for decades the TSA focused strictly on weapons and flight safety, but a new data-sharing partnership with ICE has fundamentally changed the risks of traveling within the United States. "You could be subjected to ICE deportations at the airport simply for just traveling," Bradley said, "so if you don't have lawful status in this country, it is important for you to seek immigration help."

He advised immigrants traveling within the U.S. to seek any available form of legal status.

"We are living in very hard times for immigrants in this country," Bradly said, "There is an attack against immigrants, so I advised people to seek legal help, make sure you're protected, and at the same time be very careful when you're traveling."
