3 Bronx men accused of trying to sell cocaine with 7-year-old present in NJ
Three men from The Bronx were arrested Wednesday for trying to sell cocaine with a 7-year-old present in New Jersey, according to police.
Authorities say they opened an investigation into a possible drug deal taking place inside the parking lot of a local business on Route 17 in Mahwah.
Officers stopped a vehicle believed to be involved around 5:20 p.m. It contained four occupants including Davion Hicks, Raymond Gomez, Kimberly Colon and the young child.
A search of the vehicle uncovered several hundred dollars in cash, and a substance believed to be cocaine packaged for distribution.
Police say each of the suspects are charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and child endangerment.
Hicks and Gomez were taken to Bergen County Jail, while Colon was released pending a hearing in Superior Court.
Police say the child has since been released into the custody of a guardian.
