A young man is recovering from a shooting in Dutchess County.

Poughkeepsie police say it happened Saturday afternoon near Montgomery and South Hamilton streets.

Officers say they found a 22-year-old with gunshot wounds to the chest and buttocks.

The victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
