Police say two men were shot inside a Flatbush deli Friday. The United Bodega's Association is offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest.
Shots rang out just before 1 p.m. inside 1256 Flatbush Ave, according to authorities.
A 24-year-old was shot in the face and a 26-year-old was struck in the back.
Police say EMS took the men to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County in stable condition.
The UBA condemns the violent act and says the shooting exemplifies the everyday dangers bodega owners and workers face.
"This is yet another example of how vulnerable our bodega workers are. We have more than 500 bodegas that need protection, and the resources simply are not there," said Radhamés Rodriguez, president of the UBA.
"We are sending a clear message to Mayor Mandami and Gov. Hochul. We need funding for panic buttons and real security measures. Our members cannot do this alone. The city and the state must step up to protect the men and women who own and operate these bodegas," said Fernando Mateo, spokesperson for the UBA.
It is not immediately clear what led up to the shooting.
