Two men accused of setting a home on fire and then burglarizing it were arrested in Shelton, according to police.

Authorities say Joseph Lapinta and Daniel Champagne were found at the scene of the incident in December. They told police they noticed the flames while driving past the residence.

The blaze was initially deemed accidental. However, an investigation later proved that the homeowner was missing multiple pieces of jewelry, personal information and clothing.
