A 19-year-old man was arrested in connection to an East Flatbush shooting that occurred Friday afternoon, according to police.

Authorities say Justin Mallar is accused of shooting a 52-year-old woman in the ankle on Utica Avenue around 4 p.m. She was hospitalized and is expected to recover.

The charges against Mallar include attempted murder, felony assault, criminal possession of weapon, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a firearm, menacing and misdemeanor assault.

The events leading up to the shooting were not immediately clear.
