‘You’re not alone.’ Walk raises awareness and funds for brain injury survivors
The annual "March On for Brain Injury" took place Saturday in Eisenhower Park, raising awareness and funds for people living with a traumatic brain injury.
Brain injury survivors, their families, caregivers and health care professionals took part in the walk.
This year’s honoree was Aneeta Rai from Dix Hills, who was hit by a drunk driver and suffered a traumatic brain injury.
“What I hope brain injured people can take away from this is that you’re not alone, there are so many people that are cheering you on," she said.
Organizers hope to raise $120,000 for the walk.
