Emily Sonnett, a longtime member of the U.S. Women’s National Team, shared her experiences and advice in Central Islip with the SUSA Academy girls’ soccer teams.

The event was hosted by SUSA and M&T Bank to honor women’s history month and the growing impact of women in professional sports.

“Having women as role models,” said Emily Sonnett. “If I can come here and inspire just even one person, I think is really important.”

Sonnett is a FIFA women’s World Cup champion and an Olympic gold medalist.

She shared with the girls that her success is due to hard work, resilience and confidence.
