The city of Yonkers geared up for the winter season with a full-scale winter storm drill.
The Department of Public Works (DPW) conducted the drill Wednesday, which involved snowplows hitting the streets and crews testing their equipment to ensure they are ready for any winter storm that may come their way.
Residents were also encouraged to prepare for the winter season by checking their shovels, snow blowers, and rock salt supplies.
Additionally, those without proper heat in their homes can check with their local town or City Hall for warming centers, which are often set up at libraries or senior centers.
