To celebrate Women's History Month, News 12's photojournalist Karina Sorto-Kai is highlighting a 55-year-old Armonk woman who found her passion later in life and is now inspiring others with her journey.
Wendy Cohen found herself at a crossroad following a divorce and the devastating loss of her home to a fire.
"I really blamed myself, because I was dedicating my life to our family and our children," she says.
Cohen sought solace in therapy and discovered a newfound passion for bodybuilding.
"It really lit that fire in me, because I would look in the mirror and really liked what I saw," she says.
Cohen's journey is not just about personal achievement, but also about leaving a legacy for her children. She hopes to instill in them the values of resilience, authenticity and pursing one's passion. She reminds us that strength knows no boundaries.
Wendy says is planning a wellness event, all funds raised will go towards pediatric cancer. For more information visit
