Woman killed in speeding accident in Park Slope
A 29-year-old woman was killed when a speeding car struck a concrete wall in Park Slope.
The crash happened on the Eastbound Prospect Expressway at 7th Avenue just after 4 a.m. on Sep. 27.
Police say a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by a 28-year-old man was travelling on the expressway at a high speed. Inside the car were three passengers: a 28-year-old man and two 29-year-old woman.
The NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad determined that the failed to navigate the road, causing it to strike a concrete retaining wall.
The driver, the 28-yearold male passenger and a 29-year-old woman were transported to Maimonides Hospital. The other 29-year-old female passenger refused medical attention at the scene.
Both males were in stable condition and expected to recover. The 29-year-old woman was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Police have now identified the victim as Tyasia Velox.
No charges have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
