A woman was found dead underneath a Cross Bronx Expressway overpass, police say.

Officers made the discovery on Webster Avenue near Ittner Place just after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Authorities say the woman was unconscious and unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

News 12 crews saw the woman's body covered by a white sheet close to trash and clutter.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the woman's cause and manner of death.
