Police are searching for a woman they say stabbed a rideshare driver after attempting to pay him with counterfeit money in the Williamsbridge section of the Bronx last month.

Makenda Hazel, 31, is accused of attacking the 48-year-old man inside his car just before 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 15. It happened on East 215th Street between White Plains Road and Holland Avenue.

Investigators say Hazel tried to hand over the phony cash to pay for her ride when an argument broke out between her and the driver. Hazel then allegedly stabbed the man in the right side of the torso with an unknown object.

Paramedics rushed the victim to Jacobi Hospital. He is expected to recover, according to the NYPD.

Detectives say Hazel took off running after the stabbing, traveling southbound on Holland Avenue toward East 213th Street.

The NYPD released an image of her on Tuesday.
