There is a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY in effect for Sussex, Warren, and Morris counties for the accretion of ice due to freezing rain overnight. Ice totals will be under 0.1 inch.
        FORECAST:
Rain is expected for Friday, and it will start as freezing rain at the higher elevations of northwestern NJ. It creates a thin glaze of ice under 0.1 inch in these areas of the state.
This can create slippery conditions very early, from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. before it changes over to plain rain as the temperature warm above freezing. Plain rain falls intermittently across the state - on and off - tapering just after 9 p.m. About 0.5 - 1 inch of rain is expected across the state. The rain will wash some of the salt away, too.
Weather conditions improve for the weekend where Saturday will be mostly sunny and fair. Highs will be near 42 degrees.
Sunday looks improved too with snow showers staying north of NJ. Highs will be 35 with passing clouds.
Temperatures next week aren't bad and will be mild as we reach highs near 52 on Monday.
