Willingboro High School was evacuated and dismissed early Tuesday morning following a reported bomb threat.
District officials, with the help of Willingboro Police Department, moved to a virtual learning schedule "out of an abundance of caution" for the safety of students and staff.
Law enforcement authorities are currently on-site conducting a thorough search of the building. During the sweep, all school buses and local traffic are being diverted to the parking lot.
In an official statement, school leadership urged families to avoid the immediate area to allow emergency personnel to work efficiently.
To ensure the academic day continues, the district has implemented a dismissal of all students from the building.
Students utilizing district transportation, including special education students, are being picked up and transported home.
Virtual learning is scheduled to begin at approximately 10:15 a.m.
School officials emphasized that students will still receive full credit for the school day despite the disruption.
"We appreciate your patience, cooperation, and continued support as we prioritize the safety of our school community," the district stated.
