Thanksgiving Eve can be a big night for partying, as many college students celebrate the holiday with family.
In White Plains, bars and restaurants on Mamaroneck Avenue expected hundreds on Wednesday night.
Local law enforcement planned to be out in full force, reminding people to drink responsibly and be safe.
“If anybody’s driving, they should not be drinking one single bit. You don’t want to risk that. With the options to with taxis and Ubers and designated drivers that are available, they should take advantage of that," says Chief Joseph Castelli, of the White Plains Police Department.
White Plains police say residents may see an increased presence on Mamaroneck Avenue and drunk driving enforcements.
They have not revealed where those checkpoints will be.
