Vaugh Sims, of Bridgeport, has been in the hospital for two weeks after contracting an infection that forced doctors to amputate his toes on one foot, his wife Debbie told News 12.
"It was hard enough for me to get him safely in and out of the house before he got sick – and now it's going to be nearly impossible," she said.

"Vaughn recently fell outside our home and it was heartbreaking for me to see that – and I certainly don't want that to ever happen again," she said.
