A Westchester woman was found dead in Ireland, where police say they are investigating her death as a murder.

Irish authorities identified the victim as 43-year-old Jamey Carney.

Police have not announced any arrests and continue searching for a suspect.

Carney had been living in Ireland with her daughter for several years.

An Irish radio journalist told News 12 that the community has been devastated by her death.

"Several people who knew her, in streams of tears, in total shock that this would have happened. Leaving flowers and messages alongside the house where she was found," the journalist said.

"That's kind of the testament as to how well she was known, how well she integrated over the last number of years in Killarney."

Authorities continue to investigate the case.
