News 12 met with both the Afya Foundation and Toss't and Press't on Wednesday to hear how both organizations are coming together to send supplies to Jamaica following Hurricane Melissa.

Mount Vernon's Toss't and Press't, a Jamaican restaurant, are hosting their own non-perishable food drive to donate to the country.

Many of the workers have family still in Jamaica who provided news 12 with shocking images and videos of the hurricane's catastrophic aftermath.

For anyone looking to donate, Toss't and Press't will be accepting non-perishable food donations at their restaurant located at 5 Est Prospect Ave. in Mount Vernon during its hours of operation.

In Yonkers, the Afya Foundation worked to package 20 parcels to ship on Wednesday including medical and humanitarian supplies.

The aid will support frontline responders treating areas affected by the storm.

"Just be strong. We are with you. We are not there, but our thoughts and prayers are with you all," said Toss't and Press't worker Jennifer Hilton, who has family that lives in Mandeville, Jamaica.
