A Yonkers man charged in connection with a stabbing at Westchester Community College made his first court appearance Thursday in Greenburgh Town Court.

According to the criminal complaint, 18-year-old Darryl Crawford, a WCC student, is charged with first-degree assault.

Prosecutors allege Crawford and a juvenile co-defendant got into an altercation with two victims identified as Andre Hyman and Daniel Douglas.

The complaint states the juvenile defendant allegedly stabbed Douglas while Crawford was fighting with him.

Douglas suffered a puncture wound to the left side of his abdomen, resulting in a collapsed lung and extensive bleeding.

Hyman suffered a facial laceration.

"I think there's a lot more here than what's already come out to light. So I ask everyone to just be patient," said Crawford's attorney, Richard Ferrante.

It is unknown whether Hyman or Douglas are students at Westchester Community College.

Crawford was arraigned and bail was set at $25,000 cash.

The 17-year-old juvenile suspect was also arraigned and remanded to Woodfield Cottage Juvenile Detention Facility.

A day after the stabbing, some students described the campus as quieter than usual.

"It's kind of reminiscent of other, like, horrific events in other places where the next day it's like really sorrow-filled," said student Reyli Ruiz.

If convicted, Crawford faces a minimum sentence of five years in state prison.
