A local supermarket is looking to help customers prepare for hosting Thanksgiving without breaking the bank.

Wegmans has announced an option for shoppers that will include all the traditional essentials for the November holiday for less than $5 per person.

The move by the grocery chain came after a recent survey of Wegmans Insiders revealed that 87% people are concerned about the cost of food this year, while 72% said high quality is still most important.

The promotional meal is designed to serve eight people and will be available beginning Nov. 8, the company says.

Some of the menu items include a 13 lb. Shady Brook Farms Frozen Turkey, Stove Top Stuffing Mix, Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix, Wegmans Jellied Cranberry Sauce, and a Sara Lee Frozen Pumpkin Pie.

“Thanksgiving is about gathering with family and friends around a meal that feels special and familiar,” Tom Way, Wegmans senior vice president of merchandising said.

“We’re making it easier to serve the Thanksgiving experience families look forward to for less than $5 per person,” Way added.

Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. has 115 stores located along the east coast, with one Long Island location in Lake Grove.
