The MTA says G train service will be suspended starting Friday at 9:45 p.m. and resuming Monday at 5 a.m. Between Court Square and Bedford-Nostrand Avenues.
Commuter Dana Warner says it's frustrating but not surprising.
“It’s always something with the G train. It's like it runs so smoothly when it runs well, but when it doesn't run, it's annoying and it's very inconvenient," said Warner.
The MTA says the service changes are due to maintenance, accessibility improvements and ongoing efforts to improve signaling.
“It's terrible because it's like they're going to close it to fix it. And there's going to be another issue. They're gonna have to close it and fix it again. It's like how much fixing is there to do?" said Warner.
Employees at nearby businesses say it also derails business plans. Tired Thrift employee Josie Nolan says it's inconvenient.
“It’s going to be a lot harder for people to get out to Greenpoint for me and for like the businesses on the strip. Hopefully, we'll still be able to make the same amount of money, but I think it's definitely going to cause a lot of like pivoting people trying to get to this area," said Nolan.
