A planned ferry service from Manhattan to Point Pleasant Beach has been put on hold after a vote by local officials.
Town leaders voted 3-2 during a meeting Tuesday night to reject a measure that would have allowed a trial run of the weekend ferry service.
The ferry was expected to operate from a dock along Inlet Drive.
Seastreak had announced plans to launch the service this summer, with its first trip scheduled for Friday.
However, town leaders say they were not properly notified about the plan ahead of time.
The decision means the ferry’s maiden voyage will not happen as scheduled this weekend.
News 12 has reached out to Seastreak for comment but has not yet received a response.
