The Massapequa Water District says it's working to shut off water service after a water main break on Lakeshore Drive.

Superintendent of Massapequa Water District Kevin Reilly says the call about the main break came in around 5 p.m.

The shut off will last approximately four hours.

The utility says the main break was likely caused by cold temperatures.
