he Warwick Valley School District says a high school staff member is not currently in school and is not expected to return during an ongoing misconduct investigation.

The update comes after a community member posted to social media last week about a district coach being under investigation.

The superintendent says the district launched an internal review after becoming aware of the concerns and is coordinating with appropriate authorities.

Officials have not released details about what the staff member is accused of, citing confidentiality requirements.

Last week, police told News 12 they were not investigating and would only be notified if the district’s findings point to possible criminal activity.

The investigation remains ongoing.
